Chloroplatinic Acid

Chloroplatinic acid appears as a reddish brown crystal, easy delirium, melting point 60℃, relative density 2.431. It is soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether. Form PtCl4Chemicalbook when heated in chlorine gas or dry hydrogen chloride; It can be reduced to H2PtCl4 by a small amount of sulfite, when excessive, sulfite complex is formed; It reacts with ammonium salt to form yellow precipitate, reacts with SnCl2 to form reddish-brown, and forms brown when it meets KI solution.

Application:

  1.   Chloroplatinic acid catalyst can be used in the crosslinking of polycarbosilane and divinylbenzene.
  2.  Chloroplatinic acid materials can be used as electrodes to manufacture automotive oxygen sensors.
  3.  Prepare a dye-sensitized platinum electrode for solar cells.
  4.   Used for preparing precious metal catalyst and precious metal coating,Potassium, gallium, ammonium, cesium, and thallium are precipitated to separate from sodium.
