Its main component is rhodium (Rh), which is usually supported by activated carbon. Rhodium carbon catalyst is black powder, with unique selectivity and high activity, can be carried out at low temperature, low pressure or even normal temperature and pressure, and can be recycled and purified for processing.

The rhodium carbon catalyst has a density of 12.41 g/mL, a melting point of 1966°C and a boiling point of 3727°C. It is insoluble in water and is usually stored under low temperature, ventilated and dry, anti-flame and anti-static conditions‌
