White Corundum

Low Sodium High Purity White Corundum, also known as White Fused Alumina (WFA), is premium electro-fused abrasive raw material manufactured by melting high-grade Bayer alumina under ultra-high temperature above 2000°C.

Different from ordinary white corundum, our product features ultra-high Al₂O₃ content (99.6%~99.99%) and strictly controlled low Na₂O within 0.01%~0.20%, effectively reducing the generation of low-performance β-Al₂O₃ impurities. LOW SODIUM /HIGH PURITY WHITE CORUNDUM SERIES

High purity white corundum refers to the white corundum with 99.70-99.99% alumina content and 0.01-0.20% sodium oxide as the main harmful impurity. Ordinary white corundum usually has an alumina content of <99.6%, with a sodium oxide content of 0.2-0.6%.

The main phase of high purity white corundum is α- Al2영형3.

Sodium oxide is a harmful impurity for white corundum, which generates β – Al2영형3  with alumina in the molten state, and the amount of generation increases with the increase of sodium oxide content.β – Al2영형3  has a low melt- ing point, low density and low hardness. The Na2O in white corundum is mainly in the form of Na2O·11 Al2영형3  (β – Al2영형3), if the alumina raw material contains more than 0.6% sodium oxide, the white corundum produced by it will contain more than ten percent of β – Al2영형3. β – Al2영형3  and α-Al2영형3 have three lows compared with α – Al2영형3, one is the melting point, the second is the density is low, and the third is the hardness is low.

LOW SODIUM /HIGH PURITY WHITE CORUNDUM SEGMENT SAND& FINE POWDE

Its main material is bayer alumina, which is electrically fused in high temperature. It is white- and its hardness is higher, but toughness lower than that of brown fused alumina. The abra- sive tools made of it are suitable for the grinding of high carbon steel, high speed steel and chilled steel. It can also be used as polishing materials and precision founding sand, spraying and coating materials, catalyst carrier, special ceramics and super refractory materials.
